Tapping the core coder within me | NOW

It’s been a long time since I have written a code of the level that I was kinda proud of.

I think I need to tab in to my oracle grid, and access the projects Pegasus, Exodus and Goliath, and bring in the core coder again (#IronMan reference).

My typing speed has slowed down ever since I have stopped coding, my creativity has started to die and my estimation skills are improving (that is a sad thing to happen if I want to continue to call myself a coder – usually my estimations fall back by approx 5-10 times).

I am trying to access a lot of my brain’s part to work, and I am hopeful to get this done since I have started to get on to a artificial add-on : mod(alert)

Coding on RedBull right now.

New year 2016

New year happened.
On a not so happy note.

2 recent deaths ruined a lot.

Been around 5 months.

Life goes on.
My daughter is still with my mom and is enjoying her time there. Doesn’t want to come to her parents, since we don’t have time for her, because we are busy working, because we need to make sure her upbringing is good, and all because we love her, and we are not seeing her daily. Which is so sad, and gets so damn depressing at times.

She’s going to be 3 in around 2 months.

I was enjoying my job, not anymore. But I guess that doesn’t allow me to lose focus. Have some people thinking that I may not be as good as I sound(in my work) and need to prove them wrong.

This situation should not have happened, but now that it has happened, time to bring in the mitigation plan.

Getting ass-deep in work for next few weeks.

Will be in heaven and make people’s lives hell.

Ups and Downs | Nov/Dec 2015

It’s been a month.

1 death.

3 marriages(including Mig’s).

1 close-encounter(of someone very close) with death(almost-kidney-failure).
Death of a first cousin(Dec 28, 2015).

A lot of to-and-from Jalandhar-Chandigarh.

Motion-sickness as of now – drove 2500km in last 10 days or so.

Month-end is approaching.
Year-end is approaching.
Salary-end is approaching.

But then:
New Month is approaching.
New Year is approaching.
New Salary is approaching.

Quoting an old Punjabi song:
“Jagg junction railan daa, Gaddi ik aawe ik jaawe…
Kai pehli laam charhe, baaki tiktaan laen musafir”

Roughly (literal) translates to:
“World is like a train-station, one arrives, another departs…
Someone is boarding, whilst others getting the tickets”

Also plan is on the table for an evening at Dharampur.

Vodafone India (Punjab Circle) recharge error, and how PayTM saved my pizza

Being a Vodafone fan(and an active user for more than 6 years), it’s heartening to see Vodafone recharges being failed first time(at least for me) since a long time.

Online recharges are not working on Vodafone official website, PayTM and MobiKwik.

Vodafone and MobiKwik accepted payments, but failed the recharges.

Vodafone accepted the payment and mentioned that the recharge has been successful.
MobiKwik accepted the payment, and moved it to to Wallet as soon as it identified that the recharge failed.

In both the cases, amount was deducted from my account and this amount is virtually locked with Vodafone and Mobikwik. It is of no use to me for any other purpose (My Pizza is screwed).

However, (good guy) PayTM removed the option to recharge Vodafone numbers from the main selection dropdown on home page. This is a very good thing from a user’s point of view. I still have my money in my account only, and I can have my pizza with that money.

So yeah, even if this sounds a very minimal thing to someone, in my opinion it is a very good thing by PayTM. I will stick with it for next foreseeable future.

Thanks PayTM, you rock.
